countdown to the Csa!428655_10151390622735036_995397764_n

Summer is almost here, and we’re counting down to the start of the CSA. Only 5 weeks to go! Spring is flying by and our fields are filling up row by row. There is still time to join us for delicious produce all season long.  Sign up this week and get a pack of beautiful veggie note cards. This week’s card is beautiful rainbow carrots in honor of the carrots we seeded today. We’ll be offering packs of gorgeous veggie cards each week from now until the CSA starts.

The farm is truly coming alive! Our first community day of the season was a big success, and we hope you’ll join us for the next one. Mark your calendars now for Saturday May 18th. Join us for a fun work project and a potluck to follow. Kids welcome!

First Root is a little vegetable farm with a big heart. We are young farmers who grow food with love. We love to eat, we love to cook, we love working outside, and we love getting to share it all with so many wonderful folks.

Founded in 2009 by two dedicated farmers with no money and a lot of enthusiasm, First Root has grown into a thriving CSA. We farm on 2.5 acres of historic farmland in Minute Man National Historical Park in Concord, MA. We use organic and sustainable growing practices because we want this land to be fertile and healthy for many years to come. We are proud to provide high-quality produce to folks in the Boston area, and every day, we feel lucky that we are surrounded by so many people who are as head-over-heels excited abut local food as we are!

As a successful start-up farm, we hope to inspire other farmers (young and old) to take the plunge and make their own farm dreams come true.
